I got my letter in the mail yesterday… I’m going to culinary school!

I’ve been accepted to the Art Institute of Charlotte beginning in April of 2009. When I posted this news before I said I would be applying to the certificate program but have since decided to go all the way and work towards an associates degree in the culinary arts. It will take me about 18 more months to do it this way so I’ll be in school for about two years starting in April.

So after the wedding is over (and I get back in the country) I will start packing up for my move to Charlotte at the beginning of the year!

That’s right! I’ve managed to make two posts within a week of each other. I guess stranger things have happened…

So the garden photos I promised actually exist now (Mostly because Chrissy brought my camera to me while I was standing in the garden, told me to take pictures, and then made me promise to post them.) and I will share them with you!

Grape tomatoes in a planter on the deck.

This is about to be an explosion of cucumbers.

The zucchini got off to a slow start but it appears to be doing better now.

Fennel and onions are going crazy

Green beans (and onions of course) if you or anyone you know would like some green onions, please take them from me! We are suffering from an accidental onion overdose 🙂

My apologies for the quality of this picture. This is the end of the strawberries so there aren’t a lot of options.

My first bell pepper! I am waiting on the Poblanos so I can make salsa. Although, I will need tomatoes for that…

NO stunt tomatoes this year!!! I’m in a race with Mom and Dad’s neighbor to see who has ripe tomatoes first. I think I’m winning 😉

Well, that’s it so far. Don’t worry- my laziness only caused you to miss the strawberries and the peas. The strawberries are still producing a bit but between the bugs, the birds, and Bailey I only get a handful anyway. I had a good haul from the peas for a while but we had a heat wave a couple of weeks ago and they lost their will to live 😦

Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for summer!

Jenna and Keith’s wedding is fast approaching and the excitement is starting to build! We are not short on things to do around here. I know the next 8 weeks are really going to fly by so I’m trying to brace myself for the whirlwind.

I just cleaned up the memory card in my camera and found this picture from the Franklin Park Conservatory. I figured I’d post it because I haven’t taken many pictures lately.

Get ready for some garden photos soon, though! Everything has been growing so fast this spring that I’ve barely been able to keep up with the weeding- much less photograph it.

Who am I kidding? I’m totally behind on the weeding:)
