Birthday Dinner at Noble’s

Tom and Kris treated me to a birthday dinner at Noble’s- my favorite restaurant in Charlotte!

My apologies for these terrible pictures… I had to use my phone.

I had the Pig Cheek with Mushrooms, Celeriac Puree, and Beef’s Blood. It was so delicious and tender!

Tom and Kris had the Strip Steak with a Field Pea Cassoulet which was also delicious.

Strawberry tart and walnut ice cream rounded out a fantastic meal!

I should turn 28 more often 🙂

Happy Birthday to Me!

I had an awesome birthday today… even though I had to get up at 5! We made split-pea soup and gumbo in class.

Tom and Kris came over this evening with some delicious lemon birthday cupcakes and sang happy birthday to me.

I made myself some dinner and opened a bottle of zinfandel.

I even ate about a third of this giant napoleon!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes!!! Now its time to relax a bit and head to bed early 🙂

Back to school

I made it through my first two days of school!

I was super-nervous before I started but I’m feeling pretty comfortable with it now. I even got a compliment from my chef instructor today on my small dice carrots… she said they were very good for a beginner! Of course, I also cut my thumb about 10 minutes into the class so I may still have some work to do 🙂 My skills class runs from from 6:30am to 11:30am but its amazing how fast the 5 hours go!

Now I have tons of homework to do so here’s a picture of me dressed up like a chef.

Spring Break! Woooo!

I made it home from Florida!!!

I had a great week visiting with MawMaw and PawPaw.

I got to soak up some sunshine and see some critters 🙂
